About

RustiQ is the place in Kura Hulanda Village for Curaçao's own cooking with a modern twist: karni and kabritu stobá, pastechi, Krioyo bowls and sharing plates built on island-sourced ingredients, with a strong vegetarian and vegan selection. It sits at IJzerstraat 4 in Otrobanda, Willemstad, directly opposite the Kura Hulanda Museum and about 10 minutes on foot from the Mega Pier cruise terminal. Opened in December 2022, it holds a 4.4 rating from more than 240 Google reviews and a 4.5 on TripAdvisor (September 2026), and is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 to 21:30, closed on Sunday. Payment is by card only.

The restaurant is built around an open courtyard: tables cut from thick slabs of polished wood, woven rope chairs, a planted green wall and a sailcloth canopy overhead. A large mural of a woman in a brightly patterned headwrap by the local artist Bagira, whose gallery sits just up the lane, anchors the terrace, and the wooden outdoor bar beneath it is lined with yellow velvet stools.

The kitchen runs from breakfast through dinner with a menu that reads Krioyo first: pastechi and pandushi buns in the morning, bowls, sandwiches and soups such as guiambo and sopi pampuna at lunch, and evening plates like karni and kabritu stoba, fresh fish and grilled mains. Several dishes carry a plant-based marker, and a small RustiQ Experience trio serves local classics in tasting portions. Prices are listed in Caribbean guilders with 9 percent tax included.

Drinks lean local as well, with house cocktails built on tamarind, oregano punch and parchita, fresh island juices, herb teas, a compact wine card and beers by the bottle or bucket. The dark planter wall carrying the Rustiq sign marks the entrance beside the village's shaded walkways.
